Commuter Rail for Limerick-Shannon Region

My opinion piece in the Limerick Leader about why a commuter rail system for Limerick is deliverable. The headline wasn't chosen by me, and is inaccurate. I am not proposing a light rail system, i.e. a Luas-style tram system. That would take for too long and cost far too much. It would not be feasible for Limerick. This proposal is about heavy rail, i.e. to run services along the existing tracks (for the most part) between new stops at strategic locations along them.
