It's time to broadcast Limerick Council meetings

The four Dublin local authorities, plus Cork City, Carlow, Wicklow, Donegal, Kerry, Sligo all do so in various ways. In Dublin City Council's case they've been live-streaming meetings since 2007. There is no good reason that Limerick Council can't do so too. In the interests of transparency and accessibility the public in Limerick should be able to observe these meetings either live or as a delayed broadcast. And there should be a video archive of all of the meetings. It reflects poorly on the local authority if this isn't facilitated in this day and age. I had called for this nearly seven years ago in the run up to the 2019 local elections, and others have looked for it more recently. Trust in politics grows when people can actually see how decisions are made. Broadcasting council meetings isn’t radical, it’s basic accountability.
